
Hamzi K. Moghrabi
Founder and President | Hamzi Moghrabi is founder and president of IBC Inc. since its inception in 1993. Hamzi has extensive corporate and hands on experience in research, development, engineering and the management of construction and environmental projects utilizing his technical skills and close ties to international institutions in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and the United States. More importantly, it has been his vision of having a fully integrated MSW Management set-up that encompasses all technologies under one roof that gave birth to IBC and the founding of IBC, Sal - the pwner of MSW Treatment Center which is expected to become operational in 2010. Hamzi has worked on several environmental studies related to MSW and Wastewater; namely for Gizan and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, Aleppo in Syria, Irbid and Amman in Jordan, Kuwait, and almost all areas in Lebanon. His previous career in Civil Engineering included the construction management of 7 international hotels, shopping malls, roads, highways and multistory buildings in Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Lebanon and Egypt. He executed the construction of nearly 60% of the gravity sewers in Kuwait by the year 1970, including the pumping stations and the pressure pipelines. In addition, he led the construction of the highway between Abu Dhabi and Qatar 1974 and was founder and manager of the Construction Material Industries (CMI) in Oman for the production of sand-lime bricks and hydrated lime. During the past 10 years, Hamzi has been dedicated to the research, development and successful implementation of Advanced Integrated Water Pond System (AIWPS), in addition to Municipal Solid Waste Management (MSW) Projects based on Bio-Conversion of the organic component of the waste and the recycling of the rest of the components. This was done in collaboration with educational institutions such as Colorado State University & University of Berkeley in California, in addition to international industry experts who further developed these technologies. Prior to Hamzi's enchantment with the environment, he has had an avid interest in human rights, peace & justice issues. He headed the Denver, Colorado chapter of the Arab American Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) and became the National Chairman. He is also the co-author of a book called Moghrabi’s Olives. Hamzi is a Board member of Society for International Development (SID) and Consortium for Sustainable Village Based Development, USA (CSVBD). He is also an active member of International Solid waste Association (ISWA). Hamzi graduated from Colorado State University with a Bs.CE in Civil Engineering in 1962. He also hold a Paralegal Degree from Denver Paralegal Institute. |
